I have tried another two (2) times to get OEM 10.2.0.5 installed using an existing 18.104.22.168 database, and failed dismally. I intend to change tack.
Review of Installation Failures
Needed to create a soft link (see 11G OCM Install OEM 10.2.0.1 (4).
Found that 11G was not supported during the installation of OEM 10.2.0.1 as recounted in 11G OCM Install OEM 10.2.0.1 (2).
The partitioning option needed to be installed (See Add Partitioning Option to REPOS).
IP v6 entries in
/etc/hosts needed to commented out or removed (see 11G OCM Install OEM 10.2.0.1 (4)).
The order of names in
/etc/hosts was critical (FQDN first) – see 11G OCM Patch OEM 10.2.0.5 (2).
DNS needed to be set up (See Setup DNS on gridctrl).
ORACLE_HOME was set during the configuration of OMS (not recorded in this blog).
SYS had to be set to “default” during configuration according to the Support Doc ID 784963.1 (not recorded in this blog).
ORACLE_HOSTNAME needed to set to FQDN (see 11G OCM Patch OEM 10.2.0.5 (7)).
